Tournament, league and fair-play rules
How the weekly tournament, leagues and friends groups work, and what we expect from every player.
The weekly tournament
- A new pack of 8 levels opens every Monday at 00:00 UTC and closes on Sunday at 23:59 UTC.
- Everyone in the world gets the same 8 levels that week.
- Each level is scored out of 10, exactly like the main game: par moves earns 10, extra moves and hints lower the score (see Scoring and par). Your weekly total is the sum of your best score on each of the 8 levels, so the maximum is 80.
- You can replay weekly levels as often as you like before the week closes. Only your best score per level counts.
- Leaderboards rank players by total points. If two players have the same total, the one who reached it first ranks higher.
- To take part you need an account. A guest account is created automatically when you open the weekly tournament; a free account (sign in with an emailed code) keeps your scores safe across devices.
Leagues
Every player is in a league. Each week you are placed in a league group of up to 30 players at your level, and you compete with them on the weekly leaderboard. When the week closes:
- Solve all 8 levels: you move up one league.
- Play some levels but not all 8: you stay in your league.
- Skip the week (no levels played): you move down one league.
New players start in the first league. You can't move below the first league or above the top one.
Friends groups
- Every signed-in player has a personal invite link that looks like bloxpuzzle.com/invite/CODE. Share it from the game or the home page.
- Anyone who opens your link and joins becomes part of your friends group. Friends groups have their own leaderboard, so you can see how you compare each week.
- Friends who join in the middle of a week play in your league group for the rest of that week, so you can race each other straight away. From the next week, everyone is placed by their own league as usual.
- Only share your link with people you know. If a link is shared publicly and attracts people you don't want, email us and we will help.
Fair play
- The server re-checks every solution. When you finish a weekly level, the game sends the list of moves you made. Our server replays them on its own copy of the level and only accepts the score if the moves really solve it. Scores can't be edited or typed in.
- Play with one account. Using several accounts to fill a league group, boost a friend or take extra places is not allowed.
- Don't use bots, scripts, modified game files, or tools that interfere with the game or our servers.
- Looking up solutions shared by others is not cheating, but please don't post the weekly solutions publicly before the week closes.
- If we find cheating or abuse, we may remove the scores involved, reset a league placement, or suspend or close the account. See our Terms of Service.
Display names
New accounts start with a neutral name like Player K7MQ3X, and you can change it in the game. Your display name is shown on leaderboards and to your friends and league group. Names can use letters, numbers, spaces and the characters - _ ' . and must be friendly to everyone, including younger players. Names must not:
- be offensive, hateful, sexual, violent, or harassing;
- contain swear words, slurs, or deliberate misspellings of them;
- impersonate another person, a brand, a company, or Blox staff;
- include personal information (phone numbers, addresses, emails), links, or adverts.
We have zero tolerance for abusive names. Any player can report a name with the ⚑ button on a leaderboard. When a name gets 3 reports from different players it is reset automatically to a neutral “Player” name, and we review reports by email within 24 hours. We may rename or remove accounts that break these rules, and repeated abuse can lead to the account being closed.
Questions or problems
If you think a score or a name decision is wrong, or you want to report something, email [email protected]. These rules may change as the game grows; we'll update this page when they do.
